Membership Categories & Pricing 2022

 

Regular Membership

Regular members shall be organizations regularly, currently and primarily* engaged in the business of background screening. Regular Members may vote and hold office.

*Primarily is defined as firms deriving 50 percent or more of gross annual revenue from screening services.

Dues: are determined by the total number of company employees. Part-time employees count as one-half. The total number is the actual number of employees, not just those who wish to be listed with PBSA.

  • 12 or fewer employees: $700 USD per year
  • 13-25 employees: $1,400 USD per year
  • 26-50 employees: $2,050 USD per year
  • 51-100 employees: $3,700 USD per year
  • 100 - 500 employees: $6,200 USD per year
  • 501 - 1,000 employees: $10,000 USD per year
  • 1,000+ employees: $15,000 USD per year

Associate Membership

Associate members are organizations who are secondarily* engaged in the business of background screening or who provide services integral to Regular members, as defined by the Board of Directors. Regular Members may vote and hold office

*Secondarily is defined as firms deriving less than 50 percent of their annual revenue from screening services.

Examples of services integral to Regular members include supply-chain type entities such as: software, background screening research and data, wholesale public records, fingerprinting, drug screening, reference and verification services.  

Dues: are determined by the total number of company employees. Part-time employees count as one-half. The total number is the actual number of employees, not just those who wish to be listed with PBSA.

  • 12 or fewer employees: $625 USD per year
  • 13-25 employees: $750 USD per year
  • 26-50 employees: $950 USD per year
  • 51-100 employees: $1,200 USD per year
  • 100 - 500 employees: $1,500 USD per year
  • 501 - 1,000 employees: $1,800 USD per year
  • 1,000+ employees: $2,200 USD per year

Affiliate Membership

Affiliate members are entities that support the purposes of PBSA and professionalism in screening, but, as determined by the Board of Directors, are not primarily or secondarily engaged in the business of background screening and do not provide services integral to Regular members.

Examples of affiliate members are attorneys, consultants, human resource or security professionals, insurance carriers, end-users. Affiliate members may not vote.

  • 12 or fewer employees: $625 USD per year
  • 13-25 employees: $750 USD per year

International — Other Membership

This membership category is for companies not located in Europe, Canada or Asian Pacific countries.

Annual Dues: $600

Membership Qualifications:

  • A company that is a consumer reporting agency (CRA) which is in the business of selling employment and/or tenant background screening services directly related to end-users, such as, employers or landlords.
  • A company that is Provider of services and products to CRAs. Examples of Provider services and products: database software, background screening research and data, legal resources, fingerprinting and drug screening, marketing and advertising, consulting, verification services, insurance, onsite inspections and compliance systems.
  • A company, individual or other entity that supports professionalism in background screening and agree to support and comply with PBSA Code of Conduct and its policies. Examples are staffing agencies, human resource teams, private investigators or security professionals.

PBSA Membership Year — January 1 to December 31

First year membership dues are prorated based on date of application.

  • 1st qtr. (Jan-Mar) — 100% of annual dues
  • 2nd qtr. (Apr-Jun) — 75% of annual dues
  • 3rd qtr. (Jul-Sep) — 50 % of annual dues
  • 4th qtr. (Oct-Dec) — 100% of annual dues which includes remainder of year and all of following year
