My role at PBSA:
I’ve served in many roles at PBSA over the past 2 decades. Most recently I’m concluding my 12th year on the Board of Directors where I’ve served as a Director these past 2 years immediately following my term on the Executive Committee and as the Chair of our Board of Directors. I have also served with the Provider Advisory Group over the years and will begin my term on the LDC - Leadership Development Committee this Fall.
Why I wanted to volunteer with PBSA:
The Professional Background Screening Association has offered personal and professional growth for my team and me in more ways than I could ever recall. The opportunity to give back to this community and our association has always been an easy decision for me.
What I do when not at work:
Typically coaching or cheering on my kids and their interests. But, when I carve out some time for myself, I enjoy just about anything outdoors - mountain biking, motorcycling, boating, snowmobiling, concerts, travel. If it has some adrenaline, music, or social draw I’m usually very interested.
What I'm reading:
I’m knocking around a couple at the moment, but “Never Split the Difference” is currently the leading option.
Favorite website, podcast, blogs, etc.:
I lean towards humor and comedy when it comes to podcasts and blogs, though I’ll admit I don’t necessarily follow anything real specifically.
On my desk right now (books, personal items, etc.):
I tend to keep a tidy desk, not a whole lot on it. My grandfather gifted me a wooden owl he hand-carved. It perches on my keyboard and serves as a bit of a daily reminder for me – Family, Wisdom, Creation, Work. All in one single point of reference, all very important to me. Beyond that just my laptop, coffee cup and a note pad.
