October 2025 Volunteer of the Month
Rob Allinson
Head of Risk
Matrix Security Watchdog
My role at PBSA:
Is currently Chair of the Europe & Africa Government Relations Committee and Criminal Records Trade Body (CRTB) and member of our Europe & Africa Council Leadership team.
Why I wanted to volunteer with PBSA:
I really enjoy learning more about background checking industry practices across the world and get to work with some great people in the process.
What I do when not at work:
Three kids keep me pretty busy, but when I get a chance, I love doing stuff with my hands, working on cars or houses. I also love cooking and can happily spend hours in the kitchen trying out new things. Also I love music and am involved in organising an annual music festival that raises money for charity.
What I'm reading:
Currently reading one of my favorite authors, Ken Follet – The Evening and the Morning – a historical novel that intertwines real historical events with fictional characters. It’s his 5th book in a series about England 1000 years ago.
Favorite website, podcast, blogs, etc.:
I’m a news junkie, so probably various news sites to get a grounded view of current affairs.
On my desk right now (books, personal items, etc.):
