November 2025 Volunteer of the Month

My role at PBSA:

Out to pasture [aka recently rolled off the Board of Directors at the Annual Conference] and the newest member of the Former Chairs of the Board of Directors Support Group. I'm actively involved in the BSCC (Background Screening Credentialing Council) and Industry Practices.

 

Why I wanted to volunteer with PBSA:

I enjoy being part of an organization that plays a big role in making our industry better. I have learned so much from industry veterans and want to be able to mentor those who are just starting out.

 

What I do when not at work:

During this time of year, usually watching college or pro football. Also, planning future vacations with the family.

 

What I'm reading:

8th grade science fair materials covering how reactive dyes take to different fabrics.

 

Favorite website, podcast, blogs, etc.:

I'm really into sports and true crimes podcasts. Some of my favorites are "Small Town Murder", "New Heights" and the Chicago feed of ESPN 1000 after a Bears game

 

On my desk right now (books, personal items, etc.):

A LEGO Darth Vader Helmet that my daughter gave me for Father's Day along with random scraps of paper that at one time had some purpose.
