         Annual U.S. Conference Peer Review Task Force

         Length of Position: Temporary (6/15/26-6/18/26)

         Estimated hours per week/month: 2-4 hours total - online review process

         Number of Positions: Multiple

         Skillsets Desired: Knowledge of the background screening industry; interest in education and conference programming

         Description of Volunteer Objective/Goals:

PBSA's Annual Conference Peer Review Task Force has multiple volunteer seats available.

As a peer reviewer, you'll receive access to an online portal where you'll independently review and score session proposals submitted for the Annual Conference from 6/15/26-6/18/26. Volunteers evaluate each submission and provide comments to inform the final Selection Committee as they build the conference schedule.

Your feedback plays a critical role in ensuring the conference content remains timely, relevant, and impactful. This is a meaningful way to contribute to the quality and direction of PBSA's premier educational event with a minimal time commitment. Volunteers are also welcome to serve on both the Peer Review Task Force and the Session Selection Committee if available and interested.

         Annual U.S. Conference Selection Committee

         Length of Position: Temporary (6/22/26 and 6/23/26 from 2:00-4:00pm EST)

         Estimated hours per week/month: Up to 4 hours total (two virtual meetings)

         Number of Positions: Multiple

         Skillsets Desired: Knowledge of the background screening industry; interest in education and professional development

         Description of Volunteer Objective/Goals:

PBSA's Annual Conference Session Selection Committee has multiple volunteer seats available.

As a member of this task force, you'll help determine the final educational programming for PBSA's Annual Conference. Task force members review session proposals alongside peer review scores and comments to select the presentations that will deliver the greatest value to attendees. Your insights help ensure the final agenda reflects the most relevant and engaging content across the industry.

Selection Committee members must be available for two virtual meetings (via Zoom) on 6/22/26 and 6/23/26 from 2:00-4:00pm EST. Please note that individuals who have submitted a session proposal for the Annual Conference, or who are listed as a speaker in any submitted presentation, are not eligible to serve on the Selection Committee.

 Europe & Africa Council
Criminal Record Trade Bodies SubCommittee

Skillsets Desired: Knowledge of UK criminal record process
 
Description of Volunteer Objective/Goals:
PBSA’s Europe & Africa Criminal Records Trade Body Subcommittee currently has 1 seat open.
 
The group meets every 3 weeks with alternating meetings including government agency attendance from the UK Disclosure Barring Service, Access Northern Ireland, and Disclosure Scotland. The Subcommittee works collectively with government agency to support industry and awareness of activity within industry and government initiatives. Members of the CRTB must be a registered agent with DBS, Disclosure Scotland, and/or Access NI.

Government Relations Committee

Skillsets Desired: Knowledge of policy and legislation, lobbying and advocacy
 
Description of Volunteer Objective/Goals:
At the end of 2024, PBSA launched a new committee focused on government, regulatory, and legislative matters across Europe - Europe Government Relations.
 
At the moment, we have representatives from the UK, France, Sweden and South Africa, and we’re eager to expand our reach and bring in more voices from across Europe. We are looking for volunteers to identify the best means to track legislative or regulatory activity so that we can engage and share feedback on behalf of our members when appropriate.

APAC Council
Government Relations Committee

Length of Position:  ongoing
Estimated hours per week/month: 1 hr call every month, as needed and some email communications between or instead of monthly calls
Number of Volunteers: one (or two if CoChairs)
Skillsets Desired: Understanding of GR activities in APAC region, interest in the topic, ability to help coordinate consultation and education documents to support members
 
Description of Volunteer Objective/Goals:
This committee works to ensure communications to members on regulatory and legislative changes across the region. This role is supported by PBSA Staff and the Chair (or designee) will also hold a position on the Council Leadership (which is one hour call, once a month).

United States Council

Prepare and record webinar for Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Checks in the United States for use in the PBSA Global Learning Center

Length of Position:  Temporary, over approximately 2 months 
Estimated hours per week/month: 3-5 hours total
Number of Volunteers: one
Skillsets Desired: Knowledge of Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) in the United States
 
Description of Volunteer Objective/Goals:

PBSA's Global Learning Center provides local information produced by members for the global screener. These screening fundamentals are available for all members to access as needed, regardless of time zone.

We are in search of a subject matter expert on MVR Checks in the United States to create a 20-25 minute presentation that will be recorded for the Global Learning Center.

As a content creator, you'll receive a PowerPoint template to use for the presentation which will include a slide with your name, organization and contact information. Once the presentation has been finalized, staff will work with you to arrange a recording time that works with your schedule. There will be no live attendees at the recording and re-dos are possible.
