Birgitta has a background within Economics and professional career in recruitment and staffing industry. She is co-founder and ceo of ToFindOut and has since the start 2008, not only been taking the lead for the company's transformation from a service-based business to an HR-tech product company, but as the co-founder of the Swedish Backgrounds check companies (BKF) 2011 has also been involved in developing the industry and driving its issues in Sweden within both privacy matters, good industry practice and policy issues.

Martin Hardy is the founder and Executive Director of SP Index, a leading provider of OSINT and social media background screening solutions. With extensive experience in the screening industry, Martin has been at the forefront of developing innovative approaches to online reputation analysis and digital risk assessment. Under his leadership, SP Index has expanded across multiple global markets, leveraging AI-driven technology to enhance accuracy and compliance.

Will is a next-generation leader in background screening, with 15+ years of experience creating innovative, high-performance screening solutions. With a degree in Finance, Accounting, and Management, his career has spanned multiple business functions, leading to his role as Company Director at one of the UK’s largest screening firms, overseeing 300 international staff.

Passionate about future-proofing the industry, he challenges traditional methods to drive better outcomes. His leadership led to his appointment as Chair Elect for the PBSA in Europe, shaping screening standards.

Originally from South Carolina, Sally has pursued higher education and professional opportunities in Tours, France since 2019. Now actively involved in the Edtech and verifications sector, she is working with Verifdiploma as the International Accounts Manager.

Tom McAuliffe is the Head of Product at Konfir, a UK-based provider of instant employment and income verification. With a background in FinTech and HRTech, Tom has spent over six years building B2B solutions that leverage employment and income data.

Today, he works with a wide range of businesses—including employers, tenant referencing providers, lenders, and background screening companies—to help them reduce risk, automate processes, and build top-notch products.

Petr has dedicated over 20 years of his career to serving as an investigations and security manager for major corporations such as General Electric, Marriott International, and Ernst + Young. In 2010, he established Screening Solutions, a business intelligence and background screening firm, which he later successfully sold to Grant Thornton.

In 2020, Petr launched Scaut.com, a venture capital-backed platform focused on automating and orchestrating background screening within the Central and Eastern European (CEE) region.

Nicky is a commercially driven executive with a passion for unlocking performance through people. As COO of iCOVER Services for the past five years, she has led large, globally dispersed teams—transforming Product, Delivery, and Account Operations to drive efficiency and growth. Before joining the background screening industry, Nicky held senior leadership roles across a range of B2B markets in the UK, consistently delivering strong commercial outcomes in complex, matrixed environments at scale.

Her expertise spans sales, talent, HR, culture, results and customer success, underpinned by a sharp financial lens. She brings a strategic, people-first approach to building high-performing, sustainable organizations.

Alice is a business lawyer, specialized in privacy, and qualified in New York and Paris. Alice often intervenes in the background screening, risk management, and financial sector industries. Alice was general counsel at iCOVER for over 6 years prior to opening her practice, Lex11, dedicated to privacy and compliance. She graduated from Washington University School of Law (United States) and the Sorbonne School of Law (France). Alice joined the New York bar in 2016 and the Paris bar in 2017.

With over a decade of experience in the pre-employment screening industry, Chris now serves as the Managing Director of Agenda Screening Services. With a background in IT, InfoSec and Privacy, his career has seen him providing the impetus for strategic and transformational change. Chris has been pivotal in taking products from inception to market and can be seen working at the crossroads of Operations, IT, InfoSec, Privacy, and Commercial domains. Chris was awarded The Fellow of Information Privacy, holding CISM, CIPP/E and CIPM certifications. He has a degree in Computer Science and Certificate in Company Direction with the IoD.

Jenny Reid, Founder of iFacts Employee Screening services, has been in the security industry since 1995 and quickly became the first female President of the Security Association of South Africa in 40 years.

She is considered an expert on employee screening. Jenny bought the iFacts brand in 2009 and developed progressive and comprehensive employee screening services to help clients remove the risks involved in hiring. With 28 years in the industry, Jenny is an outspoken advocate of change, integrity, and innovation to address areas of human risk.

Laura Rosianu is the Europe Council Manager, starting with January 2024. She had been a Board Member in the PBSA Europe Council since 2017 and during this time she was involved in the various committees - Communications, Marketing, and more recently - Innovation. Besides her role within PBSA, she is a People and Business Development Consultant.

Julie Schwartz focuses her practice on Privacy and Cybersecurity. She assists and advises clients on any kind of privacy-related matters and understands their needs in various sectors and industries. In particular, she provides clients with assistance for their GDPR compliance, including drafting internal policies and privacy impact assessments, implementing binding corporate rules, handling litigious complaints and requests from data subjects, assisting in case of data breach, drafting and negotiating data processing agreements, etc. Julie also assists clients during CNIL (French Data Protection Authority) dawn-raids (online, documents based and on premises) and ensures follow-up with the Authority.

Caroline Smith, Deputy General Counsel for HireRight, oversees efforts across EMEA, APAC and Latin America to comply with the key laws affecting the background screening industry and to educate customers about complying with them. She has been in the background screening industry since 2008. Caroline is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) via the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Susie is PBSA's Secretary/Treasurer and sits on the PBSA Board of Directors.

She has over 35 years of experience in risk mitigation, due diligence and background checking. She was a founder of Security Watchdog in UK which was sold in 2023 to Matrix, a leading UK workforce management solutions provider. As Matrix COO, she has overall responsibility for service delivery across Matrix group operations.

Anton began his career in recruitment, HR, and L&D across Asia Pacific before relocating to London to join Control Risks Screening, the UK’s oldest and then-largest background check provider. After a successful tenure, he moved to a global bank, managing their background screening and client due diligence program for over 12 years.

With deep expertise in background checks and HR, Anton understands what makes a screening program effective and how to mitigate hiring and insider risks. Now, as Director of the Background Check Advisory, he provides subject matter expertise, helping organizations refine their screening policies, processes, and best practices.

Yohan Zibi is the co-founder and CEO of EveryCheck, a French company specialising in verifying candidates' diplomas, experience, and identities. Established in 2015, EveryCheck aims to restore confidence in the recruitment industry by conducting thorough background checks for recruiters and companies.

With prior experience in finance in London and New York, Yohan recognised the importance of background verification, a practice common in Anglo-Saxon countries but less prevalent in Europe. Yohan will be speaking at the PBSA 2025 Europe Summit in Paris on 20 May 2025, sharing insights into the evolving landscape of background screening in new territories.
